New website design coming 1st September 2007
New website design coming 1st September 2007 It's been a while since the OzLeisure.com.au website underwent a make-over, and it has been due for a while now. Over the past couple of months, the team here have been hard at work preparing something totally new, clean and fresh for you to use. The new site design encapsulates the new "web 2.0" design principles that many of you will be aware are sweeping the web right now, and these make the site much easier to use. That the main purpose of the change though - to make it easier for you to use, and to provide you with more functionality when searching and browsing for your ideal activities.

One of the main things you will notice with the new site design is maps ... they are everywhere, and all completely interactive. You will never be left wishing you knew where an activity was again.

There are far too many new features to list them all here, but below are a few highlights for you:

  • Clean, fresh new design
  • Improved searching and results display
  • On-site media viewer with additional media types available
  • Improved navigation around activity listings
  • No more classified listings - all items now show a page of details
  • Searching by map
  • Driving directions to all activities, events, exhibitions and artists from anyway in the country
  • Much, much more ...

Remember, it is coming to a web browser near you on 1st September 2007. Be sure to check it out.

Calling all artists
In response to your feedback, the new website version includes an "Artists lounge", a place were artists can display their works for all to see. Artworks can be images, videos, audio or written word. Registration to upload items to the site is required but it is completely free, and there is no limit to the amount of artwork that can be displayed. Also, there is a section for artists to tell you about their upcoming exhibitions.

All items are searchable and can be viewed online. There are also driving directions to the artists studio so you can visit should you wish to.

So, if you are an artist yourself and would like to display your work to thousands of visitors, or you know artists that would like to, why not have them look at the new website once it is revealled on 1st September 2007.

Prize draw for new registrations - why not refer a friend?
New registrations prize draw Now is a great time to refer a friend to OzLeisure.com.au. Between 1st July 2007 and 31st Aug 2007 all new registrations on the OzLeisure.com.au will be entered into a prize draw with a chance to win 6 bottles of wine.

In association with Doc's Fine Wines & Liquor of North Balwyn, VIC who we already partner with on the OzLeisure Grapevine podcast we will be giving away 6 bottles of wine chosen especially by Greg Nicholson of Doc's (and the host of the Grapevine show). Winners will be chosen at random from all new registrations made on the OzLeisure.com.au website between 1st July and 31st August 2007. The winner will be notified during the first week of September 2007 using the e-mail address supplied during the registration so that we can get delivery details.

If you refer a friend during this time, and they are the winner of the draw ... well, you never know, they may even share the wine with you. Good luck to all of the new registrants that you refer.
