Men Urged To Explore Flowers Through Art
Sunshine Coast artists Lyn McCrea and Michele Knightley believe that anyone can be artistic. Furthermore, they believe anyone can find their artistic talent through flowers – including men.
In their art workshop ‘Flowers – Wild to Wacky!’ there are no boundaries. All art mediums in any style by any person of any experience will be encouraged. The only rule is that the subject matter must be about flowers. Starting with a gourmet morning tea, this stimulating springtime workshop will be held 21-22 October, from 10am to 3pm at Wallace House, Noosaville - $100 for members and $120 non members. The ‘Flowers – Wild to Wacky!’ workshop will be held in conjunction with the Noosa Gallery Society’s fourth annual awards exhibition.
As senior tutor Lyn McCrea explains, "If you come along to the workshop you can paint or draw anything from realism to abstraction - Wallum wildflowers in the landscape, sumptuous still life, floral fantasies…as long as the works are inspired by flowers. Blokes are more than welcome. We’ll make sure they feel at home." Fellow tutor Michele Knightley adds, "Landscapers can even start their work outside. I’ll be there to guide them."
